Massimo Rebuzzi
Massimo Rebuzzi has wanted to be a field guide since the age of six. Born in South Africa, he began his guiding career in 2003 in KwaZulu-Natal and has since spent over two decades guiding, managing and training within the safari industry.
His experience spans private 5-star lodges, wilderness camps and remote landscapes across Southern Africa, including the Waterberg, Kruger National Park, Namibia and Botswana.
Over the years, Massimo’s passion evolved into training the next generation of field guides and conservationists.
As the founder of African Bush Company, Massimo combines his deep knowledge of the wilderness with a passion for walking, tracking and connecting people with nature. His aim is simple: to create meaningful, immersive experiences that reconnect people with the wild.

Professional Trails Guide, SKS Birding, ETDP & FGASA Assessor and Trails Guide Mentor, Cybertracker Qualified Professional Tracker and Track and Sign Specialist, PFTC Range Officer, FGASA Safari Guide of the Year 2016 Competitor (Winner categories: Shooting and Tracking), PFTC Firearms Assessor.
Conny Thurmann
Conny has been wanting to be a field guide since the age of 5, so similar to Massimo the fascination for the African bush started at a very young age. Being born in Germany, her path took her to a carreer in marketing, brand management and public relations first, with frequent vacations to South Africa. Always having a passion for nature and the outdoors, she became a field guide in South Africa in 2016 and has been guiding and managing safari lodges in southern Africa ever since.
Her experience spans high-end lodges as well as overnight trails in remote wilderness areas or overlanding in southern Africa. She has guided in South Africa (Waterberg, Greater Kruger, Garden Route), Botswana, Namibia and Zambia. Within the last years she started getting involved in guide training, especially in the field of trails guiding.
Conny's passion lies in simplifying complex ecological processes into engaging, relevant, and enjoyable experiences. She promotes ethical guiding, respect for wildlife, and a commitment to safeguarding our natural heritage.
