Overview

Vast, stark and endlessly captivating, Etosha spans almost 23,000 km², its landscape shaped by the immense white expanse of the Etosha Pan. Open grasslands, mopane woodland and ancient waterholes draw an extraordinary diversity of wildlife, including elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, black and white rhino, giraffe, zebra and gemsbok.

At its heart lies a prehistoric lakebed — a vast saline landscape that occasionally transforms with the rains, bringing water and life to the shimmering pan. Here, space, silence and wildlife come together in one of Namibia’s most distinctive wildernesses.
