Short Sample Itinerary

​

• Day 1: Arrive at King Shaka International Airport in Durban and transfer by road, approximately 2.5 hours, to your lodge in Zululand. Arrive in the afternoon, check in and settle into your room. Enjoy some time to relax and take in your surroundings before dinner at the lodge.

• Day 2: Early morning safari activity with a coffee stop in the bush, returning to the lodge for breakfast. Enjoy time to shower and relax until lunch, before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and an evening around the fire.

• Day 3: Mix things up and let your experienced guide take you on a morning bush walk, experiencing the wilderness on foot and learning to read the tracks and signs of the bush. Return to the lodge for breakfast, shower and relax until lunch, before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Enjoy dinner back at the lodge.

• Day 4: Enjoy a final early morning safari activity in Zululand, returning to the lodge for breakfast. Take some time to relax and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon activity, either a game drive or bush walk depending on conditions and your guide's recommendation. Enjoy your final evening at the lodge.

• Day 5: After breakfast, check out and begin your road transfer to your second lodge in St Lucia, situated close to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and Indian Ocean. Arrive, check in and enjoy lunch before relaxing at the lodge or exploring the surrounding area. Enjoy dinner back at the lodge.

• Day 6: After breakfast, set out on a boat trip through the waterways of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, looking for hippos, crocodiles and abundant birdlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and enjoy a relaxed afternoon before heading towards the beach to experience the beautiful Indian Ocean coastline. Return to the lodge for dinner.

• Day 7: Enjoy a relaxed morning around St Lucia after breakfast, with time to explore the surrounding area. After lunch, spend the afternoon enjoying the beach and Indian Ocean, or choose an additional activity like the iSimangaliso Nature Reserve, depending on availability. Enjoy your final evening at the lodge.

• Day 8: Enjoy a final breakfast before checking out and beginning your road transfer back to King Shaka International Airport in Durban, bringing your South African bush and coastal adventure to an end.

 

Accommodation

You will stay in comfortable double rooms with en-suite bathrooms in carefully selected safari lodges. Your first lodge in Zululand offers an authentic bush experience, while your second lodge in St Lucia provides easy access to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and the Indian Ocean beaches. Facilities include a pool, restaurant, bar and outdoor areas. All accommodation and activities are subject to group size, season, weather and availability.
