Immersive wilderness trails in Pafuri, in the northern Kruger National Park, offer a rare opportunity to experience the African bush on foot in its purest form. Journey deep into the wilderness, carrying your own backpack and covering ground through the diverse landscapes of this remote and wild corner of Kruger. Days are spent walking, tracking wildlife and learning to read the subtle signs of the bush, with relaxed lunches beneath shady trees. Evenings are shared around the fire, followed by sleeping under the stars and quiet moments to listen to the sounds of the wilderness and reflect on the day. It is a stripped-down, elemental safari experience that reconnects you with the rhythm of the wild and the deeper essence of exploration.

Short Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Self-drive or road transfer to Pafuri in northern Kruger National Park. Arrive and begin your wilderness journey, settling into the walking rhythm and settling into your first wild camp. As the sun sets in the wilderness before dinner around the fire.
Day 2: Rise early and begin your first full day on foot. Walk through the Pafuri wilderness with your experienced trails guide, following wildlife tracks, reading the landscape and exploring the bush at ground level. Stop for a relaxed bush lunch beneath the shade before continuing your walk. As evening approaches, settle into your wilderness camp and sleep beneath the stars.
Day 3: Wake to the sounds of the bush and continue your immersive trail on foot. Spend the day walking through the diverse landscapes of Pafuri, tracking wildlife and discovering the smaller details that are often missed from a vehicle. Enjoy a bush lunch along the way before continuing into the afternoon. As night falls, gather around the fire and spend another night sleeping beneath the stars.
Day 4: Enjoy a final morning walk through the wilderness, taking in the landscape and wildlife before returning for breakfast. Pack up and leave Pafuri.

You will spend the three nights on an immersive wilderness trail, sleeping in wilderness camps beneath the stars. All trail arrangements are subject to group size, season, weather and availability.
